Who can request access to the girls’ survey?

The Eights and Arrows Girls in Cue Sports Survey is a controlled safeguarding pilot for girls aged 13 to 17 in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. It is not available through a public survey link.

Requests may be made by

1. Schools, colleges and recognised education providers.
2. Registered cue sports clubs, leagues, tours, governing bodies and associations.
3. Youth clubs, charities and community organisations working with girls.
4. Local authorities, leisure providers and recognised sports development organisations.
5. Organisations supporting disabled or neurodivergent girls.
6. Established girls’ and women’s sports organisations.
7. Approved coaching or participation programmes operating through an accountable organisation.
8. Recognised research or education partners with appropriate child safeguarding and data protection arrangements.

Before access is granted, the organisation must normally provide

1. The name and contact details of the accountable organisation.
2. A named senior contact and named safeguarding lead.
3. A current child protection or safeguarding policy.
4. Evidence that adults involved have the appropriate safeguarding training and role based background checks where required.
5. A safe process for obtaining parent or carer consent and the girl’s assent.
6. A clear procedure for responding to a safeguarding disclosure or concern.
7. Appropriate privacy and data protection arrangements.
8. An agreement that the survey link will not be published, forwarded or shared outside the approved activity.
9. An agreement not to collect additional names or identifying information alongside survey responses.
10. Agreement to follow the Eights and Arrows partner briefing and delivery instructions.

Individual coaches, promoters, parents, carers or players may contact us to express interest, but the private survey link will only be issued through an approved accountable organisation.

Girls aged 8 to 12 will not complete the online survey. Their involvement will be through a separate, facilitator led listening activity with appropriate consent, safeguarding and supervision.
